| In the midst of our first Stones-exhibition |
Our names are Maria (Mary - a housewife) and Wolfgang (Thommy -
a journalist) THOMAS, born 1949 and 1951, we have two sons (Kevin, 1978 and
Colin 1982 ). We live in Siegen since June, 1979. Siegen situated in the
western part of Germany between Cologne and Frankfurt.
|
 |
We received our first award from ”Heartbeat′s One &Two“ |
|
Whilst Mary prefers the music of the Beatles, Thommy's heart
belongs to the "Stones", but the "frontiers" aren't so strictly as they have
been in the Sixties. And: We are a little bit proud that during the last 20
years we met and talked to some of the people, who gave us so much pleasure
with their music from the Sixties on: Bill Wyman, Ron Wood and Mick Taylor (The
Rolling Stones), Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), John Phillips of The Mamas and The
Papas, Scott McKenzie, Dave Dee, The Dubliners, B.B. King, Achim Reichel und
Henner Hoier (The Rattles), Peter Kraus, Wolfgang Niedecken (BAP), Greg Lake
(Emerson, Lake & Palmer, King Crimson, Asia)...
Paul McCartney Paintings
We were happy having been invited to the opening ceremony of
”Paul McCartney Paintings“ in Siegen - and met him on his private
party afterwards.

Meeting with Chuck Leavell

Chuck Leavell with Thommy (l.) and Mary (r.) at ”Schloss Berleburg“ (Picture: Lars-Peter Dickel)
|
We had a nice meeting with
Chuck Leavell,
once member of The Allman Brothers Band and now long-time-keyboard-player for
The Rolling Stones, in Bad Berleburg (Northrhine-Westphalia) on September, 10 th, 2007.
He was on a tour to promote sustainable forestry playing concerts and talking with German
wood farmers and politicians. For us he signed a copy of the lp ”Sea Level“
from 1977 and a page in our book ”The Rolling Stones Over Germany“.

Status Quo signierte Gitarre
 |
 |
We are proud to announce that we now own a beautiful blue acoustic guitar signed by Status Quo.
Keyboarder Andy Bown, who played alongside Peter Frampton with The Herd before he joined Quo
signed also two of his solo-lps, issued in the Seventies.

Scott McKenzie and John Phillips

Meeting at the highway hours before a concert in our hometown 1987:
Scott McKenzie, John Phillips and Wolfgang Thomas
|
Bill Wyman
Among our new arrivals are a set of collectables, signed by former Rolling
Stones bass player Bill Wyman (pictured with Mary).
On May, 30th, 2004 in his hotel in Siegen he autographed for example a 1970
Framus bass, also some of his books and several newspaper stories, everything
now exposed in our museum.
On the evening Wyman played a concert near Siegen with his Rhythm Kings.
