In the ”Film-Section“ of our Rock-Museum you may find about 500 autographs of German and international filmstars. With this site we show you a small election in remembrance of the great Hollywood times in the 1940s, -50s and -60s. We added collector′s items to each of the autographs.

Due to the fact that he was an excellent horseman Gary Cooper was hired as an extra in Hollywood. With ”High Noon“ (1952 – Oscar), ”Vera Cruz“ (1954) or ”Man Of The West“ (1958) the shy young fellow became a star.

”Lassie Come Home“ (1943) made Elizabeth Taylor a star. Her parts in ”Giant“ (1956 – with James Dean), ”A Place in The Sun“ (1951 – with Montgomery Clift), ”The Cat On A Hot Tin Roof“ (1958 – with Paul Newman) are ever memorable.

The third place in the ”Miss Italia“ competition 1947 was the first step into the great career of Gina Lollobrigida. Most impressing her appearance as Esmeralda aside of Anthony Quinn in ”The Hunchback Of Notre Dame“ (1956). – Together with Burt Lancaster she made ”Trapeze“ (1956). During his college time Lancaster worked as a circus performer for the Kay Brothers. In 1946 Robert Siodmak hired him to play a part in ”The Killers“.

Dancer, singer and actress – these are the steps, Doris Day made to become a Hollywood Star. She showed her great comedian talent in many films in the 1950s/1960s.

When he was 13 Cary Grant left home to join a group of artists, travelling across the country. Lateron as a filmstar he held the loveliest and most desirable Hollywood actresses in his arms. – The main part in Frank Capra′s ”Mr Smith Goes To Washington“ (1939) was his professional break-through in Hollywood. The shy and reserved star played wonderful roles as a partner of Marlene Dietrich, Grace Kelly or Katharine Hepburn.

British actor James Mason became famous by playing parts in melodramatical movies like ”The Man in Grey“ (1943). In the 1950s he had his break-through in Hollywood: ”Julius Caesar“ (1953), ”20 000 Leagues under the Sea“ (1954), ”North By Northwest“ (1959).

Elia Kazan gab ihm 1952 die Rolle, die ihn zu einem der herausragendsten amerikanischen Schauspielern werden ließ: Marlon Brando war der mexikanische Volksheld Zapata in dem Streifen „Viva Zapata“. Mit dem Namen Gregory Peck sind vor allem zwei große Charaktere verbunden: Der düstere Kapitäns Ahab in „Moby Dick“ (1959) und der mutige Anwalts Atticus Finch in „Wer die Nachtigall stört“ (1963).
