Let′s Twist Again
(28th July till 19th August 2001, Siegerlandhalle, Glaesersaal)
German pop-stars Udo Jürgens and Roy Black, The Lords and The Rattles, Chris Andrews, Casey Jones & The Governors, Uriah Heep, Rory Gallagher, Mike Oldfield and Santana - all of them and many more national and international rock- and popmusicians have played in the Siegen concert hall "Siegerlandhalle". This year's event: the celebrations of it's 40th anniversary. And on behalf of this we present our next exhibition: "Let's Twist Again" (July 28th till August 19th) - opening hours 11 am to 7 pm every day).
There you will find a summery of our complete collection on rock and pop history from the 50ties to the 90ties - the main theme are of course: the Sixties. On more than 1.000 square meters we expose many rare items on rock and pop music as well as pieces concerning the German music scene.
The main theme however are the Sixties: You will meet Mick Jagger and the Stones as well as The Beatles, Cliff Richard and many more. You may have a look on the singer/song-writers, the flower-power-time, the festivals of Monterey and Woodstock - on posters, in books, on record covers and many other fancy exhibits like match-boxes, signed posters and photographs, puzzles and magazines as Billboard, Melody Maker and New Musical Express. Radio- and TV-Sets, furniture and fashion, things of every-day life will carry you back into that exiting decade. Included is also a special look inside the local music scene of the Sixties.
On your way to this section you'll walk through a lane meeting the stars of three decades backwards from the year 2000. To name a few You' ll meet the Backstreet Boys as well as Madonna and Michael Jackson, U 2 and Bruce Springsteen, the Dire Straits and Rory Gallagher.
