Spotlight in Autumn and Winter ′08/′09 - „Fly Me To The Moon“
three-week exhibition on the NRW-Tag 2010 in Siegen
The exhibition „Fly Me To The Moon – Rock ‚n’ Roll Journey into space“ is our contribution to the “state of the day”-party of Northrhine-Westfalia, Germanys largest county. This year the celebration takes place in our hometown Siegen. In the entrance hall of the Volksbank Siegerland ( Sept. 9th – Oct. 1st) we present LP-covers, posters, books, magazines and a lot of curiosities relating to the theme above. We are very delighted to receive a greeting from German astronaut Thomas Reiter who was part of the MIR crew in 1995
Bill Ramsey, American pop and jazz singer sends a greeting as well. He was very popular in Germany during the 1960ies and had a hit with “Wumba Tumba Schokoladeneisverkäufer” – a story about a small green man from mars visiting the earth.geschrieben hatte.
A very special “thank you” goes to Christa Wipper from Hemer who works for the partnership to Hemers twinned Russian city Schelkowo, the training center of astronauts/cosmonauts. She arranged for us to show in our exhibition an original cosmonaut suit whose owner was part of a MIR-crew.

We also say “thank you” to Erich Steuber (on the left with Bo Winberg; foto Horstgünter Siemon). In his hotel “Siebelnhof” near Siegen the Swedish instrumental band “The Spotnicks” often stayed and played. Karl Heinz Villis from Dortmund, Spotnicks fan as well, lend us a wonderful signed guitar for the exhibition and allowed us, to show the instrument in our rock-museum.
