::: Spotnicks/Sputniks :::

In the competition to reach the universe the Sowjet Union was the tip of a nose in front. Even in 1957 the SU succeeded in sending a satellite into the orbit: Sputnik I. It was the name of a band in the former GDR and also the reason for a Swedish group to call themselves ”Spotnicks“. They waxed titles as ”Moon Shot“ and ”The Rocket Man“. The GDR-”Sputniks“ came out of the ”Telstars“ and the ”Big Town Boys“ in 1963. The Sputniks appeared with some songs on the legendary Amiga Lps ”Big Beat 1“ and ”Big Beat 2“.
