::: The Monterey- Pop-Festival :::

John Phillips together with Lou Adler organized the Monterey International Pop Festival from 16th til 18th of June 1967. Hippie bands as Grateful Dead (Grateful Dead-Spotlight) and Jefferson Airplane were on the bill, new bands like The Association and Janis Joplin with Big Brother & The Holding Company. The Who – presented on stage by Rolling Stone Brian Jones – got a major boost for their US-career as well as Jimi Hendrix.
This album has been released by Reprise Records in 1970. It presents excerpts from the Monterey concerts by Jimi Hendrix and Otis Redding. Right: This cube was used by Penguin Books to celebrate it′s 60th anniversary.
