Spotlight in Winter ′07/′08 - History

::: Parodies/Curiosities :::

No one has been – and still is – a better imitator of Helmut Kohl than satirist Stephan Wald. On the album ”Hungergala“ he talks with the tongue of many other German politicians. Unforgettable is his parody – together with Ron Williams – on Helmut Kohl and US-president Ronald Reagan. The album in the centre contains speeches of members of the Bundestag, overdubbed with music.

curiosities

In the Eighties Chancellor Helmut Kohl was goal of a mockery-song named ”LaDa Dee La Di Daa“. – Herbert Wehner, 1966 architect of the first CDU/SPD-coalition, was very well known for his itching irony. This single contains many examples as: ”Germany needs Bavaria – because I′m not able to deliver cheese.“ - Heinrich Lübke was the second president of the Federal Republic. Satire magazine ”Pardon“ issued an album with many examples of his curios quotes.

In 1991 the band ”25th of may“ made former British premier minister John Major cover-star of the Maxi-single ”What′s Going On?“. – ”John F. und die Gropiuslerchen“ sang in 1987, when Berlin celebrated it′s 750th anniversary. – Political party CDU demanded ”Get out of your left-wing corner“.
