Spotlight in Winter ′07/′08 - History
Konrad Adenauer
In the past 30 years we found a lot of very interesting longplayers on Konrad Adenauer, the first chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany.
There′s only one single in our museum reminding Adenauer′s successor Ludwig Erhard and no record on chancellor No. 3, Kurt-Georg Kiesinger. But we got some interesting pieces about Willy Brandt: The social democrat was chancellor from 1969 – 1974; he received the nobel prize for peace in 1971.
Willy Brandt
More outstanding Social Democrats
on vinyl: Kurt Schumacher was the first SPD-chairman after the second world war and opponent of Konrad Adenauer. Gustav Heinemann was the first social democrat chosen as president of the Federal Republic, Helmut Schmidt succeeded Willy Brandt as chancellor (1974 – 1982).
CDU / CSU

It was in vain: Rainer Barzel tried in 1972 to become German chancellor instead of Willy Brandt. – Franz-Josef Strauß, chairman of the Christian Social party of Bavaria (CSU), was the candidate of the opposition to chancellor Schmidt in the federal election 1980. - Karl Theodor Baron of Guttenberg was member of the German parliament, the Bundestag, from 1957 to 1972.
Anniversaries
Richard von Weizsäcker as president of the Federal Republic held remarkable speeches – for example to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the state and also the 40th anniversary of the end of World War II.
